No next time – Sacre Couer and the Louvre

On leaving the Versailles station, Nanette engages with a nice young lady who tries to direct us to the nearby ticket shop, rather than waiting to until we get to the chateau. The shop is crowded so the boys convince the girls to keep moving. Bad move.
What do you do on your first romantic morning in Paris? Croissants and café latte at a petite patisserie you say? Mais non!
There is a little ritual among air travellers whereby you arrive very early at the airport in an attempt to snare those elusive “good seats”. Our flight from Bangkok to Paris is only twelve hours but it’s overnight, so “good seats” are pretty handy.
We’ve waited until after peak hour so the trip to the “nearby” station only takes about half an hour, despite the driver cruising at 120kph for much of the way. This is gonna cost! Yep – 135 Baht, a bit less than five dollars.
You never feel like you’re on holidays until you wake up in a new place. We play the jet-lag card this morning and stay in bed until after 7:00 local time, greatly assisted by the bedroom air-conditioner keeping the temp below 24C all night.
There is no direct flight from Toowoomba to Bangkok at the moment so, it’s off to Brisbane again.
Due to overwhelming popular demand (well mum asked me) I will once again be blogging our adventures away from the Land of Oz. I’m not sure how regular these epistles will be, but should be at least every couple of days.
We don’t actually leave until tomorrow, so this is day zero.
