Heading Home – Part 1 – YVR
It’s our last day in Canada. It’s Saturday, the sun is shining and the day promises to be hot again. Our flight isn’t until late afternoon so we haven’t actually started packing yet – plenty of time for that later.
It’s our last day in Canada. It’s Saturday, the sun is shining and the day promises to be hot again. Our flight isn’t until late afternoon so we haven’t actually started packing yet – plenty of time for that later.
We are divided between two options today – to drive one hour north to Campbell River, and then take a short ferry ride to Quadra Island, where we might be able to kayak with orcas – or travel about three hours to a beach.
Have you ever been to one of those places that’s just known for one thing? For example, mention Chinchilla and people immediately think of the world melon seed spitting championships.
When I was at primary school I learned that there are seven continents and five oceans. I could even name most of them once. Today, we are off on our mystery tour to the four seas, well four “C”s anyway.
We only have three tasks today – check out of the B&B, drop off the hire car and fly to Vancouver. I must point out at this point that Murray and I, like the people with the secret formula for Coca Cola, are not allowed to travel on the same long haul flight.
What do you do on your first romantic morning in Paris? Croissants and café latte at a petite patisserie you say? Mais non!
Due to overwhelming popular demand (well mum asked me) I will once again be blogging our adventures away from the Land of Oz. I’m not sure how regular these epistles will be, but should be at least every couple of days.
We don’t actually leave until tomorrow, so this is day zero.
