I should know better – Toowoomba
For those of you who asked me to blog this trip – you only have yourselves to blame!
For those of you who asked me to blog this trip – you only have yourselves to blame!
Sometimes you just have to experience something for yourself to believe it. We’re constantly updated with information but, if you can’t touch and feel it yourself, it isn’t really real. (The exception of course is Facebook. If it’s on Facebook, it must be true).
I saw a bald eagle yesterday. What a shock! Not because it was quietly gliding through the air without the piercing shriek I have always heard in the wildlife films. Not even because I was standing in an urban car park rather than some rugged mountaintop covered with snow. What really surprised me was that the big guy was in Canada!
I think back to our trip to the US the other day. We are in, well, er, Walmart…..A nice well dressed lady is casually chatting with the sales assistant. “So you feel I should get the 38 calibre?”
As the popular local ad says, skydiving without a parachute is a once in a lifetime experience. You may be surprised to know that is one of the very few choices that can’t be reversed here in Canada
Sometimes it’s hard being the only person in the country who doesn’t have an accent.
We have to find gate D49. There’s a sign pointing down a dusty corridor ……All the flight announcements are for domestic flights to places like Yellow Moose Creek, but we’re hopeful that we are sort of close enough to find the right plane
David is sitting in a coffee shop listening to Kirsty and a couple of her friends talking girl talk. He is also feeling good. No, this is not a fantasy story or a window into a parallel universe – we have tickets to the hockey game tonight
There are some advantages to visiting the same place often – like having Bob the border guard greet us by name as he glances at our passports and tells me that his cold is now much better
Hi all. I’ve been asked to kick off the blog again, even though this trip is all about being with Kirsty for the birth of baby XX. I can’t promise a blog every day, but here’s a summary of our first few days for those who are interested.
